Though I may have been on vacation, I did take the time to direct my camera towards the ocean and shoot some sequences. The GIFs shown in this post are the result of some of the more successful sequences (the ones with as little camera shake as possible).
I have dabbled in self-portraiture in the past, but this time I decided to go a whole other way about it.
I tried to paint something that didn’t turn out quite the way that I expected, and when I decided not to keep it, I slammed my hand into the paint in frustration… The rest is history.
There’s a story behind this project (not very surprising, right). I wrote a poem a couple of years ago (not a very good one) whose title was “Water”, and I ended up spilling water on it, so that the ink dissolved and half of the text was impossible to read.
I bought a vase. I held it up close to my face. And I saw this.
I had a hunch in advance that Slovakia was bound to be a beautiful country – but I had no idea before I stood there. I spent a good week in and around the Slovakian part of the Tatra mountains, and I can only say that I wish the trip had been longer.
