A Flower Kept Out of the Sun

A flower
kept out of
the sun –
expected
withered
and gone –
but petals
white
turn green
defiant,
stubbon,
unseen –
and veins
on leaves
turn red –
I WON’T
ACCEPT
MY DEATH –
I may not
blossom
again –
remain
yet all
the same –
